I've never done the early check - in and I've always been happy with the room I was assigned to when I arrived -- but I'm wondering if I have a better chance of getting a room request if I do early check in versus waiting to check in until I'm there. I'm under 30 days and I know the resort we are staying is going to be crowded - so I'm trying to figure out which way to go with this.

Room assignments are done about 4-5 days before your arrival. If you have the request on file then the assigners will see it and try to give it to you and you have done all you really can. Checkin time makes no real difference but once you are there you can try to get a change at the front desk if you aren’t happy.

Yeah if you do the early check in online (I think it's 11 days before your first day at the resort?), it will give you some options of what is most important to you. For instance, do you want a ground floor room? A particular building? Would you like to get your room early in the day? Stuff like that.

I have been lucky that every time I fill out the form online in advance of my trip, I get my requests. Give it a whirl!
