If we are staying off-site the night before an early morning EMH, and we check-in to our hotel very early that morning, can we take advantage of the EMH?
We are considering flying in on Wednesday night so as to maximize our time on Thursday. However, we would be staying just off-site that night and checking into POR on Thursday.

As long as you check in before going to the park, yes, you can still use EMH. Your MagicBand will show you as checked-in at a Disney resort.
