So we leave in 33 days, and I just checked to see how many days left until they ship our Magic Bands. There is now an option to "decline Magic Band". I was just looking at this 3 or 4 days ago and I don't recall it being there then. Interestingly, the option appears for DW and I (we have multiple bands - these will complete our set of all colors) but does not appear for our granddaughter (this is her first band).
Did I just miss seeing it a few days ago or did they just add this option in the last day or two.

I was hoping for this option and finally they put it there. Due to different discounts, etc. on our last room-only reservation in April, we had 3 different sets of bands mailed and I called and asked that they don't send them, and they just kept coming.
Good deal!!! Now if they'd just make purple a color option.
Thanks for posting this! I just noticed this for our upcoming visit. It really does make so much sense. We have 5 bands from visits in just the last year and a half alone!

I know I saw a purple one when they were testing them a while back.

This is DW's wish as well

I like this option too!

My September trip has a decline feature for all of my party for Magic Bands. We are all pass holders so we already have pass holder bands plus all the bands from previous trips.
I also noticed they had changed all our old bands to inactive which is something to check if you use your old bands. I reactivated a couple of mine.

Funny Cindy, our last trip, the CM at ASM deactivated a bunch of mine, telling me that there were too many. I thought it didn't matter. I just reactivated a lot of them yesterday. I like the color options.
Otherwise, I like that they are finally giving an option to not be wasteful and decline them.
Just planning a November trip now and noticed this the other day. I knew it was new since my last trip but didn't realize it was this recent.

Can someone tell me, can more an one band be activated at the same time for the same person? We are getting a new set for our upcoming trip so each of us will now have two. Like someone mentioned, they like the color option and I would too.
Next trip, I will decline as it just doesn't make sense to send a new band every trip.
I've been hoping for a decline option for a while now! I have boxes of bands from recent trips and have no idea what to do with them. I don't really need more yet! But if they added purple to the color lineup, well, then I would add another!

I had never deactivated any of my bands or my family's bands, either, so we had a bunch of active bands on our MDE accounts. I didn't see the big deal until last November when we checked into SSR and couldn't get into our room using our new bands for that trip. It took about 6 hours, two room changes, and an SSR CM and manager deactivating all of our other bands before our SSR bands would finally work. It was a disaster. So, I guess having active bands on your account can become a problem!

We had the same problem last year. We had a bunch of bands plus old room keys associated with our account and they couldn't get my daughter's magic band to work for the room until they deactivated some of them. Most of the time I have 4 or 5 active bands.

Yes, you should be able to have more than one set. They will all work for the park if you have them associated with your tickets but sometimes they need to associate them to the room at the desk.

Interesting. I currently have 6 bands and 2 cards - all active. Had them all with me on our last trip in April. Did on-line check-in, had a text with our room number when we landed, and all of the bands/cards opened the door to the room and worked in the parks.

All of mine are still active at the moment. I'll check again in a couple of days when they ship us the next set.
