So Sept 1st is our 60 days out to pick our FP+ since we are staying on Disney property. I went on the computer to 12:01 AM early this morning ( late last night) to choose our first day's FP+. Our goal was to secure a FP+ for soaring for our day in Epcot. At 12:01 AM the earliest a FP+ was available was for 2:30 PM? I was surprised by this. Should I have been?

Keep in mind that others may have started their vacations several days earlier than you will be arriving and had the option of selecting their fast passes for their entire trip(s) which may be the same day you are planning to go to Epcot.

Typically, the system will provide you with several timing options for your selections. Even after making your selections, you can continue to work with your fast pass selections to see if better timing options open up for you.

I agree, I usually take the selections closest to my desired times and then go back and tweek them.

Inevitably, I have found that the times MDE shows you when you first make your selections are not the only ones available, nor are they necessarily the earliest ones. I'm pretty sure that a major function of the app is to even out the crowds and as such, it "suggests" times that are best for Disney, not for you. Most people will take one of the choices MDE provides and assume those are their only choices. They rarely are.

Just select something that generally works for you and then tweak them to a better time. Be aware though that MDE will not show you times that conflict with other FP or ADR reservations. So if you had breakfast ADR at 9, you won't see any availability between 9 and about 10:15. It won't let you overlap. You may have to move things around more than once to get stuff out of the way so you can see the times you really want.

I just got on and made a FP+ for Oct 1 (as far out as I can go). My original options for Soarin' were all in the afternoon. Going back in and changing it, it shows me any time I could possibly want (except for the times i have the other 2 FPs).

If I'm seeing availability for the morning at 30 days out, it's highly unlikely that everything is gone for 60 days out.
