So, we've never had to do a split reservation before. Same hotel and room type, but room only for the first couple of nights, then the package for the rest of the stay. We're hoping that we won't have to change rooms or spend an inordinate amount of time checking in for the package. Can anyone who's done this before help me understand how this works and what we should do to make it go more smoothly? Our first check in day of the second reservation is our first park day and we're going to be anxious to get to the park as soon as possible! :mickey:

I've done room only and package trips in the past but, at two different resorts. I think you should have it noted on your second reservation that you are "continuing" your stay from a prior reservation and request that you not have to change rooms. Otherwise, you should have ample time to "check in" before you head off to the park of your choice for the day.

Just have it noted on both reservations, and then at check in, remind them again that you'd like to stay in the same room. We've done that a few times and was able to stay in the same room.

Okay, thank you! I'm assuming I'll have to call to have them add that? I don't recall there being a place for it on the online check in.

Yes, I would definitely suggest calling to include your continuing status on your reservations as well as the request to stay in the same room. Good luck!!

Spoke to a CM yesterday and she was awesome! She linked the reservations and put notes on both of them.
