Has anyone gone for an afternoon tea in NYC? I am looking for a good place to go for 3 adults. Been looking all morning and haven't been able to figure out which one sounds the best.

I have gone to tea in NYC numerous times, always adults only. Which places are you considering?

One close to MOMA and close to the experience at GF. Some of the ones around Central Park are a little too far.

Guess I narrowed it down to The Plaza and Radiance Tea.

I've had tea at the Russian Tea Room and at the Plaza (and both are close to MOMA). Both are lovely and I have vivid memories from going with my Mom.

I hope you enjoy it!!

The Palm Court, which is where afternoon tea is held at the Plaza, is under renovations but is scheduled to reopen any day now. The only problem I had with tea at the Plaza was you had so many people taking pictures while you are trying to enjoy tea. Took a bit away from the relaxing vibe which I like with afternoon tea.

The Russian Tea room sounded really expensive. For 3 of us it would be about $250. The Plaza looks good if it reopens.

My daughters and I went to the American Girl place in Chicago for tea a couple of times when thet were young. We had such a good time.

Radiance Tea has Asian food and a lot of tea choices so may go with that. The one bad thing is I don't think it takes reservations. It isn't fancy so my daughters probably would like it better.

I agree about the Russian Tea Room (just checked out their menu). WOW! $$$%

You'll have to come up to Toronto and have tea at the King Eddie. It's a lovely tea experience too!

I come from British stock, so we often went for tea when we travelled. We also often went out to tea at home as well. My Mom (who passed away 6 years ago) was a very small eater with very disabled hands, and appreciated the daintiness of tea. We always prepared a Valentine's Day Tea in her home each year too. Really lovely memories.

I am sure Phiilly has some nice places to go. I just thought I would try to find something fun to surprise my daughters. It will be nice to do a day trip and not go alone. They are both very much into tea and love to bring home tea from Epcot.

I really regret not going to the tea at GF you organized Christine. If my husband had had someone to do an activity with it would have worked out. He wasn't too interested in attending that meet.

We are booked for the Plaza tea next week! Excited!! The tea runs $65 a person.

We get into NYC at 8:30 am. Going to Columbus Circle, grab breakfast at Whole Foods, probably a taxi ride to MET then taxi to Plaza around 2pm. Gives us about 4 hours at museum. Then hope to walk back to train station so can stop at St. Patrick's and make a few quick stops in Times Square shops and Macy's before train station around 6pm. The walk is about 20-25 minutes and it will be COLD - won't have much shopping time but should be walking FAST to keep warm!

Once we are on train at 6:30 pm we don't have to leave our seats until we get home at 9pm( train station is 2 miles from our house in rural PA and we don't change trains in Philly)..

We had a great time in NYC today. It was cold but we walked fast! ;)

When we arrived the girls got coffee and breakfast at a Dunkin Donuts. We walked to St. Patrick's stopping a few places in Times Square. They were getting the New Years ball ready to lift to the top.

We also saw them working on the Christmas tree at Rockeffer Center.

We enjoyed the Metropoliton Museum of Art. I was blown away by the Tiffany glass and the views of Central Park are nice. The Frank Lloyd Wright room is nice and the Egyptian art.

Our tea at the Plaza was very nice. If anyone goes we figured out we should have gotten a couple different food choices rather than all the same one. There were 25 teas to choose from and the waiters were very attentive. The Eliose tea food choices looked fun- little cupcakes in the desserts and cotton candy. It would have been fun to sample other pastries and sandwiches.

We made it to Macy's to look around.

On train home now- nice day trip.
