Wow! That is wonderful! What made you take the big step? I have been contemplating how i will know its time to go. I guess when my youngest flews the coop. Shes 20. My oldest daughter lived there till last fall and my middle daughter is planning to make the move in September. I would not be surprised to see me looking at next summer

My kids are all out of college now, with good jobs, dear husband is retiring in December, and since I was a high school teacher (AP Computer Science) it was better to retire during the summer then at Christmas Break.

So although it's only been a few days, how's it going? DH retired two years ago , I think he got sick of me nagging him to retire. He used to work 50-60 hours a week and probably never would have retired. Now, two years later, he says "If I'd known it was this much fun, I would have retired earlier!" He loves it-me, whyever did I want him to retire?

so far so good - but the days are filled with packing to move.. and once I move the days will be filled with unpacking, so I'm thinking it may be a month or so before it hits me

Congrats on your retirement! By now you are probably in Florida. Lucky you! My DH and I just retired 3 weeks ago and are loving it! My retirement celebration trip is planned for Disneyworld of course and will be an extended trip...checking in on November 7th and checking out on November 19th. Would be so much better to live in Florida but not possible at this time. Who knows in the future though...might possibly happen. Again...congrats on your retirement!
