I know we used to have a lot of Project Runway fans on the boards, but over the years, many have stopped watching. I still watch for kicks. Anyone else? The first two episodes of this season make me feel like the judges are trolling us. The winning looks on both episodes were horrible, in my opinion.

I watch. I still love project runway (although miss Michael Kors, don't care for Zac Posen). I agree about the first episode, though this last episode I really liked the winning looks. It was more about being creative and cohesive rather than wearable, I thought they made a good choice.
Can't believe how the losing team all threw the Indian girl under the bus. She handled it so well, was very impressed with how classy she was about it, though still doesn't make me like her clothes, lol.

I agree that the winning group was creative, but the construction was weak in my opinion. The winning look shocked me. It looked cool, but it was essentially a bunch of stuff hanging on a muslin dress. Looks like that have gotten people eliminated in the past. The dress with the letters was a unique idea, but it looked too stiff on the runway. The duct tape dress was awful. I've seen much better construction with tape- in fact didn't project runway have a duct tape challenge one year?
I definitely agree that Carrie and Hernon of the losing team were awful. The whole team was on a collision course from the beginning. Wasn't it the Indian girl (sandhaya? Something like that) who said "let's make our own looks and try to bring them together later?" Yeesh.

Sigh...I remember when Bravo showed arthouse foreign films and cultural concerts. :((And then the programming head made big headlines about Coming Out, and all of a sudden it was fashion, celebrity gossip, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy seven nights a week.
Well, so much for the old stereotype about "Old-film and opera fans".)
It's been on Lifetime for a few years now, but yes, it originated on Bravo. And yes, much like TLC (The Learning Channel) Bravo has become overtaken by reality programming in the past decade.

$$$
Although I have to confess that Bravo has become my guilty pleasure go to channel.
I still love Project Runway and have never missed a season since I came onto the show half way though its first season.
That duck tape dress was a mess and I don't much care for that designer's attitude either.
Both episodes there has been middle of the packers that have done much more interesting work IMHO than the winners. Hopefully we will see more of their work in future shows.
My favorites this week were the Barbie doll pink/blue group, although the colors were :ack: as a whole.

Me too. Loved the effect of the CDs on the "Barbie" dress. But I guess the silhouettes weren't unique enough to impress the judges.

I guess we aren't in tune with the fashion world. The winning outfit looked like Judy Jetson to me. I didn't get it.

Agreed. I think the producers are trying to create "drama"

I have hoping that would be the reason. I can't imagine Heidi or Nina or even Zac Posen, for that matter being caught dead in any of the things this girl has done. Why can I not remember her name? Usually I seem to know the names of the people I want to leave first.

Sandhya. I've started watching just this season because I was in San Antonio with a friend who watches when it started this time.
Sean and Alexander are my favorites so far, but they both really blew it last week. I had to agree that they belonged in the bottom. I don't like Char or Mitchell's work much so far. She's too 80s and he's too weird. Korina is such a witch. I did like Emily and Christina's looks best this week, but I also think Sandhya had a great simple dress without the tubes. The tubes? Not so much. I might have had Hernan in my bottom three this week, but he made it through. And I'm glad it was Angela going. She seriously needs to find her confidence.

I'm almost afraid to say it, as when I do the person is usually sent packing, I like Samantha. So far she has been in the middle of the judging and we haven't seen much of her. Looking back at the runway shows, to me, her designs seem very wearable.
Sherri, your calling Korina a witch is being very, very kind to her. Although it wouldn't be PR without one of these fine examples of a warm hearted woma

Another week, another head scratcher! The judges going gaga over FRINGE??? I see fringe all the time on the tacky shirts they sell at the boardwalk. Fringe is what the wanna-be hipster girls wear to music festivals. It is not innovative. Plus it's very derivative of the look she did for the unconventional challenge. I just don't get it. At least the right person went home. Hernan's look was as ugly as his attitude.

Yeah, Hernan really blew it. I liked Amanda's dress but I didn't think it was anything extraordinary, and the fringe was too long. Maybe a few inches shorter? I thought Kini should have won. I really thought he hit on the spirit of the challenge.
I loved everyone whining over what Sandhya chose for them. There wasn't a really great choice in the bunch, so they should have just shown what they could do instead of moaning. I'm really surprised that Mitchell and Char have consistently avoided the bottom, because I think they have been consistently awful. I'm not into Char's 70s/80s vibe at all, and Mitchell's stuff, like him, is just weird.
But, I don't know about Sean. He really seems to be on the judges bad side and that "deconstructed" mess was a bad call for him. I can see him going soon now. Kristine was so good last week, but so bad this week. Also, Sandhya's mustache cut out? I didn't get it. She always has that one element that makes me say, what?
