As predicted, the bad weather was gone by morning and we woke up to cool but cloudless skies. We headed to Shutters once again for breakfast. Spouse ordered pineapple pancakes while I had a bagel and cream cheese.
After breakfast, Spouse needed to pick up something at CVS so we retrieved the car and took a short drive. Before heading back to the resort, spouse decided to take a drive north of Disney resort. We quickly realized there was very little to be seen along the road so turned the car around and headed back to Disney.
While checking out the resort yesterday, we noticed that there was a mini golf course by the pool so decided we would play a round at this 9 hole course. Spouse resoundingly beat me and I was well over par - oh well!! It was still fun even though the "greens" we're still very full of water from yesterday's rain.
After we turned our clubs back in, we headed out for a nice walk along the beach. When we returned, we sat by the pool while I enjoyed a nice iced tea. When lunch time rolled around, we headed once more to the Green Cabin Room. This time, we split an order of sliders (There are three served with onion strings and they are larger than normal sliders). It was an ample lunch for the two of us.
Back to hang out on our lanai for a bit and then another nice long walk on the beach. So relaxing!! We hang out by the pool a bit and have pina coladas. I only drank half of mine and spouse finished it - I had forgotten how filling they are!!
Tonight, we have reservations for dinner at Shutter's. We were supposed to be going to Sonya's but Disney called a couple of weeks before we arrived to inform me that Sonya's was closing for refurbishment and we would be unable to dine there this evening so our reservation was changed to Shutter's. Actually, there have been so few people here, I would be surprised if we really need the reservation.
As I thought, we did not need a reservation for Shutter's. In fact, the restaurant was mostly empty. Spouse had a steak for dinner and I had boneless short ribs over mashed potatoes. The food was mediocre - nothing spectacular. It was certainly not fine dining right down to the paper napkins on the table. Despite this, the prices were most definitely fine dining.
Spouse wanted to go back to the Green Cabin Room for a nightcap so we did. While the outside deck was mostly full, we decided to sit inside due to the bugs (little biting ones). While there, a cast member came in and set up a game of Pictionary. She tried to rope us into playing but we opted not to. She waited quite a while before a couple came along to participate in the game and even though spouse kept telling me not to get wrapped up in the game, he kept wanting to shout out what he thought the answer was!!
This will be our final sleep at Vero Beach. We relocate tomorrow.
